F1 Real Manager - FAQ
Welcome to the FAQ for the F1REM Liveries.
If you got a question which cannot be answered from the rules or the tutorial
feel free to mail me here.
Your question will be answered here at this page. Make sure you read the rules and tutorial before you start asking questions.
Q: Can I enter more then one entry?
A: Yes, but you can enter only one entry in each category.
Q: When will the new designs be implemented in the game?
A: The top 3 of each round of each category will find it's way into the big finale. The winners of that finale will eventually be implemented.
Q: What exactly do we have to use the shadowlivery for. I usualy work graphics with photopaint, coreldraw and flash combined. Please some info on that.
A: Past experience taught me that some people find it very difficult to get the appropiate shading (bits of shadow on the actual car) into the design. Without the shading the car will look very flat. If you feel up to it you do not have to use the shadowlayer and you are welcome to make your own shading, as long as the light source is positioned at the left front of the car. Otherwise the rest of the shadow at the right of the car will look silly and also the car will look silly with the rest of the other cars. From the shadowlayer you get a good impression of what area's should be darker and which should be lighter.
But to be honest, I strongly recommend and prefer you use the shadowlayer for getting the appropiate shading into the car.
Q: I see only 15 spots at the current entries page. Is that the maximum number of entries per round?
A: No. There is no maximum number of entries per round. There is a minimum of 10.
Q: Do I need to make a national livery or a real livery?
A: No, you are free to make a fictional livery as well.
Q: My design looks very similar to a design already entered. Do I have to make a new one?
A: Not for round 1. As of round 2 the entries will only be made public just prior to the voting. It can ofcourse happen that similar designs are entered and that is not a problem. What will not be accepted are designs which are a copy of designs of previous rounds. This does not mean that you cannot make p.e. a real livery which has already been made in a previous round, but it wil only be allowed when it is a significant improvement in quality (either in resemblance with the real livery or in graphical quality). Entries of similar or poorer quality will be rejected as well as designs which seem to be copied from earlier rounds.
