General proceding:
The idea is to have a continuous design competition. Each round will roughly take a month: 3 weeks of entering car designs and 1 week of voting. The minimum number of car designs needed to have a competition is 10. The winner gets $3.000.000 prizemoney for his F1REM account.
The competition is divided into 3 categories: real liveries, national liveries and fictional liveries. National liveries should resemble the national colors or usual 'outfit' of the country it represents. P.e., the Dutch national colors are red, white and blue, but sportoutfit is usualy orange. Both are valid as is a combination of both. Real liveries are designs resembling current or past F1 cars. Designs based on racecars other then F1 cars will be marked as fictional livery, together with the creative made-up designs.

Since the competition is divided into 3 categories, the folowing applies to each category. After 6 rounds (months) a Super Design competition, a sort of big finale, is held. The top 3 of each round enters the Super Design competition. The top 3 of the Super Design comeptition gets to be implemented into the game. Prize money for this competition will be 3.000.000 for the top5 and 1.000.000 for 6th to 10th place.
These general procedings may be suspectable to changes during the course of the competition. You will be notified of any changes.

You will need the following:
- save template2.gif and the shadowlayer.gif
- try to use a decent graphic program, p.e. PaintShopPro (the standard MsPaint will most certainly not work!)

Here are the rules of the competition:
- only one entry per manager per category. If you enter more only the 1st entry will count. Better save the designs for a next round. Ofcourse, if you hit the top3 in several rounds you can have more then 1 design in the big finale.
- you may NOT change the size of the picture, so canvas size must stay 40*80 pixels
- background color must remain pink (if you want to use pink into your design, be sure that it is a different shade of pink, otherwise you run the risk of having your pink turn transparant)
- you may not change the position of the car relative to the border.
- you may NOT alter color or shape of the tyres and suspension parts (see also the tutorial for more details)
- basically you may change all color of chassis and wing (yellow in the template), but you may NOT change the shape of them (so no adding bargeboards or sidepod-wings etc)
- you may also change color of the blue area (helmet area), but remember that it must resemble a helmet (and be creative, give the helmet some other color then blue ;-)
- the final design must be saved as a transparant gif-file, with a maximum of 32 colors, including the ones needed for tyres, suspension and background. This will leave you with about 24 colors to work with. (Tip: this could be a bit more since you are allowed to use the exact colors used for tyres and suspension into the design, so if you need some grey, you can choose to use a grey also used for example for the tyres, but be ware, do not alter the shade of grey!)
- the file must be (re)named as follows: familyname of manager_initial_group.gif, so my entry would be called: sergi_s_g2b.gif
- designs which are obscene, with religious or political contents or in other way distastefull will be rejected. This includes using certain words.
- also rejected are designs which seem to be a copy of previous entered design. Only when there is a significant improvement in quality the new entry will be allowed.
- You are allowed to enter a design which is a significant improvement of an entry entered in an earlier round, but you are not allowed to enter a design which is a replacement / revision of a design which currently already excists as a livery in the game. The competition is not meant for that.
- as of round 4 2003 liveries are no longer allowed, as are earlier liveries which have a strong similarity with 2003 liveries
Note: try to use the tutorial, for it will keep you from making the most common mistakes. Past experience has taught me that correcting errors takes much time. Therefore I will reject any entry which is not enterly according to the rules.

Submission of an entry:
- go to the submission page
- click on the link for the right livery, it will prompt you to send an email. State your name as it appears in F1Rem and your current group
- for both national liveries and real liveries it is required to state a description of your design, p.e. that it should resemble a Ferrari 2002 driven by M. Schumacher, or that is meant to be a Dutch livery. For fictional designs a description is optional.
- designs based on real racecars other then F1 cars (like F3000, LeMans, Cart etc.) will be marked as fictional designs
- don't forget to name your entry properly and attach it to the email
- once I accepted the entry you will be notified too. Just prior to the voting all entries will be uploaded.
- you will be notified when an entry is rejected

The decision was made to make the entries public when the voting starts and not before. Also, to stop it from being a popularity contest the entries remain anonymous. Therefore it is unappropiate to make public and advertise your entry prior or during voting and if you do you risk being disqualified from that particular round of the competition.
